Full disclosure: I'm an Anastasia fan. Whether it's her brow powders, brow brushes or clear brow gel, everything she does just always seems a notch or two above the others in terms of quality. So I keep coming back to her. Now, Anastasia's got out a new Line Erasing Serum--a foray into skin care for the Anastasia line.Ordinarily, a new eye serum cum line eraser should raise a skeptical eyebrow (fitting as it's Anastasia we're talking about, no?) But, since it is from Anastasia, I gave it a try. The Line Erasing Serum formula contains "Balkan Botanical Infusion". I don't really care what any newfangled ingredient blend is called (or how many miles have been traversed to "discover" it). I've coined enough ingredient blend names to know what that process is like and the bottom line for me is, call it whatever the h*#% you want--just make sure it actually works! So this one includes a blend of antioxidants such as Bilberry and Green Tea extracts--along with Marshmallow Leaf to help hydrate skin.
In addition to the infusion, Line Erasing Serum has something called Instalift Goji--which is basically Tibetan Goji Berry--another powerful antioxidant. And though they don't make a big deal of it, the serum contains several peptides as well.
The line-erasing part mostly comes from the inclusion of sodium hyaluronate, aka hyaluronic acid, and dimethicone--a silicone based ingredient. The former helps plump out fine lines while drawing moisture in; the latter is an ingredient that "floats" on skin and sort of hovers in and over fine lines to create a smoother appearance. If you've used a hair de-frizzing product or glosser, you've used a dimethicone (or silicone) type of formula--imagine the feel of that on your skin and you've got the idea.
And does it work? It definitely tones down the appearance of fine lines and crow's feet around my over 40 eyes. I'm not so sure it'll "lift" any saggy eye hooding. Line Erasing Serum does slightly tighten the eye area. But in terms of moisturization, while it feels great going on, it leaves a bit of a tacky/sticky feel once absorbed--not that smooth feel you get upon applying a more traditional moisturizing cream. That's ok--that's how you get the tightening effect, but don't think you're going to have the moisturizing feel you're used to. Anastasia Line Erasing Serum is more about immediate results with the look of your lines first, hydration second (or third).
Overall, I like Line Erasing Serum. I'm not thrilled with the $49 price point, as you can get other line diminishing products that use hyaluronic acid and dimethicone for less--but often times they're in a lotion or cream formula, not a serum. And this does take the edge off my fine lines. Plus, it's got a nice scent--something almost spa-like about it, which always gets high marks with me...

Based on the ingredient listing the Line Erase Serum also contains Haloxyl (a peptide that helps with dark circles), Eyeseryl (a peptide that improves blood circulation, draining baggy eyes) and Argirline (a peptide that is a Botox alternative). I feel that you are getting amazing deal at $49 as other companies charge over $100 for a product like this!
Thanks for your comment! Agreed Anastasia's Line Erase Serum is chock full of some of-the-moment ingredients--my only comment though is that many times the claims on these ingredients tend to over-promise and under-deliver; case in point: thinking argireline is an actual botox alternative--nothing OTC will get you the same results as a botox injection. Btw, argireline is the brand name for Acetyl Hexapeptide-3--which isn't in the ingredient list on Anastasia Line Erasing Serum; the serum contains Acetyl Hexapeptides 5, 7 and 8. Overall I do like the Line Erasing Serum--but I like it for what it is vs. what it might be hyped up to be...
Hello, I found your comment when researching the Line Erasing Serum. I recently tried a sample in a packet sent by Sephora. I love the sample so much I'm looking into finding the least expensive purchase. It goes on so smoothly and seems to help the fine lines. I hope this helps
